JNV PalakkadJawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Malampuzha, Palakkad was established in 1988 in accordance with NPE, 1986. It is situated in a 20-acre plot in sylvan and serene surroundings with beautiful landscapes in Malampuzha Village of Palakkad Taluk, Palakkad District, Kerala State.
The Vidyalaya is at a distance of 5 Km from Palakkad junction Railway Station and 7 Km from Palakkad District Headquarters. It is very close to the well-known Malampuzha Dam and Gardens and other picnic spots.

Report of the activities carried out as part of the celebration of Children’s Day.

On 14 th cleanliness activities were carried out in full vigour in our vidyalaya. The campus was divided into many parts and each part was allotted to a particular group. Students were given tools for cleaning and were guided by teachers. All were very much motivated by Sri.Balakrishnan, Principal and Smt.Bindu.s, Vice Principal. Cleaning included class room cleaning, removal of bushes, weeds from the garden and the lawn area, cleaning the roadsides, the area around the mess and the area in front of the main gate. In class rooms, desks and benches were wiped and the cupboards were cleaned.
On 15th November the students of class X organised themselves in to different groups and cleaned various areas of the vidyalaya mess. The kitchen, dining hall, store room and the surroundings of the mess were cleaned well. They removed the cob-webs, swept the floor of the kitchen, cupboards, benches and tables. The grass and weeds were removed from the surroundings of the mess. They have done a very good job that Sri.Balakrishnan, our Principal and Smt.Bindu ,our vice-principal appreciated them very much.
Mothers were invited to the mess to taste the food served in the mess. Mother of master. Syam Sadan and Kum.Grashma Sadan appreciated the taste and the quality of the food.
The need to wash hands was well explained to the students by Smt.Marrykutty, Staff Nurse.
On 17th November, the importance of personal hygiene and healthy habits were well explained to the students by alumnai Dr.Venus Vijayan and Dr.Kavitha.P.C. Students cleared their doubts in the interacting session. A special session was arranged specially for girls in which Dr.Kavitha.P.C gave importance of cleanliness during menstrual periods and the ways to lead a healthy life.
Health check-up was done for the students by Dr.Bijumon, P.H.C, Malampuzha.
On 18th, a special talk was given in the assembly on water contamination and the easy ways of purifying water and the need for purifying.
Water sample was collected and sent for testing in the laboratory.
On 19th November, students were given a talk on the need to have proper toilet habits and the need to stop open defecation. Plan of action for proper drainage system was prepared.

A n Education Rally to the nearby village town. (All teachers and students participated)
3. 11 am to 12 am
A Seminar on ‘”The need for equality of women with men.(Participant students of Senior classes)
4. 12 noon to 1.30 pm
A Symposium on “If Navodaya Life an open jail?”(Students of senior classes participated.)
5. An Essay writing competition (11.30am to 12.30 pm)
About 47 students participated
Topic: The Need for moral Education in Schools.
The winners of first three positions were given prizes.
6. From 3.15 pm to 4.30 pm
An Open General Quiz.All the students participated. Three students were declared winners.
7. From 6.45 pm to 8.30 pm
A class on “Media Awareness”” by Fr.Manoj, MCBS.
The slogans and placards for the Rally were prepared by students themselves. Students who wrote the best slogans were given Prizes sponsored by teachers.

JNV PalakkadIn accordance with the instructions received from the office of the NVS the National Unity Day is celebrated in true letter and spirit of the contents of the circular, on 31st October in our Vidyalaya.
Special Assembly: A special morning assembly was conducted on the National Unity Day in memory of the Iron man of India, Sardar Vallabai Patel, on his centenary celebration, that the nation is celebrating the day remembering the laudable services by the leader to the nation when it was in the clutches of the British people.
Speech by Principal: Principal Mr. V.N .Balakrishnan gave an introductory talk highlighting the importance of National Unity Day.
He said that Sardar Vallabai Patel was a patriot of highest order who took part in the freedom movement under the leadership of the father of our Nation. He went to London to study Law.He was a successful Barriester at Law.The people gave himthe title ” sardar” the leader,in recognition of his active participation for the welfare of the farmers in Ked, Gujarat. The entire credit goes to sardar vallabi patel for having integrated 565 Indian kingdoms in to one.
He was awarded BharathRatna, the highest Citizen National Awarded posthumously in 1991 ,16 years of his demise in 1975.
The Principal wished all Happy National Unity day.
Administering the pledge: Vice principal Mrs. Bindu administered the National unity Day special pledge .All the students, teachers and the members of the JNV family have taken the pledge.
National Unity Run: Earlier in the morning at 6.30 A.M. all the students,Principal.Vice-Principal and the teachers made National unity run going round 1200 meter (3 laps) which was organized by Mrs Mary Sebastian ,Physical education Teacher.
MARCH PAST : NCC cadets under the leadership of Mr saji PGT PHYand Mrs Mary Sebastian PET organiaed a fantastic march past exactly to the tune of the beat of the School Band. The whole school and the spectators appreciated and applauded.
Lecturette by students: Student master Yadhu Govind gave a talk on the unity in diversity and kumari Akila Prabhahar, Panchami.P.R, Akshara and Vaishnavi.K spoke on the topic safety and security of the students and citizens of India .
Master of ceremony : Mrs N.Thamarai PGT IT was the overall in charge of the programme.
Conclusion: Thus the first phase of the National unity week celebrations was held re-sowing the seeds of patriotism and National unity in the minds of the youngsters and elders.

JNV PalakkadGandhi Jayanthi was celebrated in the vidyalaya at 9.00 am on 2/10/14. Speeches, Bhajans, Reading from Holy Bible, Quran, Bhaghawatgeeta were conducted in the programme. All the staff members and students were participated in the programme. Pledge on Swach Bharath was also taken by all. Cleaning programme of office, staff room, class rooms, mess and vidyalaya campus were also organized. All the staff members and students participated in the programme whole heartedly.
Some of the students and staff members cleaned nearby village head quarter Manthakad. Some photographs of the programme are also being sent.
